The Loaf Langkawi For someone who reserves bun and bread for the moment of emergency or war, stepping into The Loaf Langkawi at Telaga Harbour Park completely changed his appetite. Fondly known as the bakery of Tun Mahathir (Malaysia's former Prime Minister), it has been talked so much and holidaying in Langkawi means a chance to explore their pioneer outlet in Langkawi!

How to locate The Loaf Langkawi is pretty straight forward. If you're driving from Langkawi Airport heading north-west to Oriental Village (for a cable car ride), Telaga Harbour Yacht Pier can be spotted on Jalan Pantai Kok right at the Petronas gas station. To enter into the restaurants zone, drive further up and take a left turn. A few hundreds meters away, you can see 'Perdana Quay' signpost. There is a strip of white beaches after this commercial block but we had to reserve it for our next visit. Or throw these GPS coordinates (6.368257,99.682307) for a quick way to find The Loaf Langkawi on map.

Back to The Loaf Langkawi review, we found it within minutes we got off from car. It occupies the ground on the central position of Perdana Quay, adjacent to the grand staircase that leads one directly to the vantage point of Telaga Harbour Marina and water front. Painted with pale violet on its facade, you can hardly miss their baker logo. Indoor or outdoor seatings are up to your choice. Luck was on our side as if God has planned everything for us. The last table in this bistro that could take 6 people was exactly what we were expecting. Cooling indoor, cozy, close enough to steal the water front view plus rooms for high chairs. It was a full house but waitstaff was prompt attending to us. If you wish to be quicker to fill up your stomach, just grab the over-the-counter buns (priced between RM3-4 per piece) and mini cheese cake (RM3+ each) in cups!

The Loaf Langkawi: Breakfast is Anytime Breakfast is served throughout the day here at The Loaf. So if you can't wait until the next morning for Tun's Breakfast, just make it for lunch. The favorite set of former premier is luxury (RM26), constituted of toasted bread, soft boiled egg, your choice of lamb, beef or chicken curry, orange juice and a cup of freshly brewed coffee. I almost asked for that but my desire of over-indulgence led me to call for Coconut Green Curry (RM20) with chicken and spinach held in a sesame bread for appetizer, Slow Roasted Chicken (RM38) for entree and a black & white Lava Cake (RM18) for dessert. And obviously I couldn't finish everything by myself! The advantage of family vacation means there is always someone that can help. After all, sharing is caring .

You may not believe it, we refused to leave the restaurant without packing more breads and cheese cakes for the next day breakfast. We sound insane or the huge selection of buns here at The Loaf are truly appealing! Sometimes, it can be both .
