Nowadays organic food is an option to some people but it turns out to be the most preferred choice amongst parents who have just started solid on their babies.
Cherries - Go organic is a wise choice!
Despite studies show there are no significant value in term of nutrients between conventional farming and organic farming, most people still go for organic produce to avoid synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides. Especially in feeding babies, their physiology is not ready to take up the risk from notorious chemicals. Nonetheless, not all produce from conventional farming are polluted. Avocados for instance are are less likely to get tainted by its nature compares to apples or grapes. To make things easier in life, some parents tend to go organic for their kid's menu.

Despite of increasing popularity on organic produce/food, locating organic food center is not a breeze as marketing/publicity is not rampant in Malaysia or precisely in Penang. Furthermore, most organic markets are individually owned by small entrepreneurs thus cost of advertising is kept minimal.

After keeping my eyes wide open and ears long enough, I finally found 3 1/2 decent options in the south eastern zone of Penang island whenever I am looking for organic stuff.

So, this week mywisewife is taking you to tour a few organic markets (listed by alphabetical order) in Bukit Jambul and Bayan Baru area.

1. Food Market at Jusco - Queensbay Mall

A small section of the vegetables aisle offer a tiny range of natural produce by local farmer.

This is a wonderful list of where to get these organic foods for babies, but not only for babies, for everyone. The lack of chemicals is really the only reason to buy organic but the problem is the cost. I do believe that sellers of organic foods will realize that they will get many more customers if they choose to lower their pricing. Thanks for this great article.
