Since 7 November 2008, Eye On Malaysia has found its new permanent home at Kota Laksamana near the mouth of Melaka River. Inspired by London Eye, Eye On Malaysia is a 60 meter tall portable observation wheel or ferris wheel comprises of 42 gondolas.

It was initiated in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007 and officiated by Malaysian 5th Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on January 6, 2007. At the beginning, the grand ferris wheel was placed at Lake Titiwangsa which offered breathtaking bird's eye view of lovely Kuala Lumpur city - The Malaysia's capital.
Now, operating at the new home in the World Heritage City of Melaka, Eye On Malaysia has its own charm compares to Menara Taming Sari. It is totally a different kind of experience boarding on the gondola. Getting there is rather simple as the signboards are clearly visible. At present moment, it is best reached by car although it will be connected by a bridge from Bandar Hilir town soon. There are plenty of car park at this huge leisure park. Set-up on a reclaimed land by the sea, the sturdy structured ferris wheel offers a captivating skyline of World Heritage City. Straits of Melaka, Menara Taming Sari, Melaka River, Melaka Island, Kota Laksamana township are among the interesting views when you were up above in the observation wheel.

Seven of us were just nice to fit into an air-conditional gondola. Our ride last more than 20 minutes and it was obviously a pleasant experience viewing Bandar Hilir Melaka from the top of the world.
