Called as Cafelab, does it mean this is the place where we dine and perform experiment simultaneously? This is what my Significant Other asked when I took him there to meet up with some friends two weekends ago. As he stared at me with a strange look, I started to imagine beakers, measuring cylinders and chemicals in fume cupboard! Of course not!
Located at the opposite end and the behind block of HSBC Bank (next to Queensbay Mall), OXO Cafelab is offering opening promotion at 15% discount. Breakfast set starts from RM3.90, set lunch from RM9.90 and set dinner is from RM13.90. Besides the sets, they also provide a-la-carte choices on a few pages menu.
Serving a mixture of continental and oriental cuisine or known to many as fusion, OXO Cafelab also can accommodate for birthday party, business or private function as they own all the three levels of this corner unit. Upstairs are usually catered for bigger crowd of 10 pax and above. Alcohol is also served here in case you wish to take a few glasses with your buddy!
Some items that we tried
Mushroom soup as starter and followed by Traditional Fish and Chips.
Innovative to include brinjals and carrots. Unfortunately, the batter was not as crispy as what I expected.
Healthy Set with Tofu Egg, Steamed Vegetable and a selection of nutritious soup (sorry ~ they are named in Cantonese slang which I am totally not familiar with!). Anyway, I love the nutritious soup the most!
Chicken Piccata - somehow it arrived late, the last among everybody's order.
Spaghetti Chicken Bolognise cost RM9.86 after 15% discount.
If you are looking for a new fusion restaurant, OXO Cafelab is a good try with reasonable price and cozy ambiance. It is very popular among FIZ residents, so if you are heading for lunch during working days, give them a tinkle first to make reservation. Hope you enjoy!
