Friday is a lovely night to enjoy outside food. The feeling of the work week is over and weekend is knocking is positive. One of the Fridays ago, some friends suggested we dine at Rudy's Bar-B-Q. As usual, my Significant Other will give me an advance notice so that I would not be preparing dinner. As soon as he told me that we are going for barbecue, the first thought that comes to mind is 'outdoor'? Would it get stinky after dinner?
Rudy's at Research Blvd, Austin
Back in my home country, barbecue or BBQ is typically performed outdoor in the instances of house warming party or birthday celebration. We have it outdoor sometimes by the pool or garden so that nobody will suffer the aftermath effect. Otherwise nobody is going to host any BBQ party anymore in the future.
Casual and simple..
First timer gets to try at the order counter
They sell Rudy's BBQ sauce and rub here
Here at Rudy's, there is nothing to worry of the aftermath at all. Eat with peace of mind.

We went to the store along Research Blvd since it is the nearest to home. Since we told the server staff that we were first timers, he picked three special meats for us to try. One of them was turkey and the other two were beef. To me, I liked turkey the most but we made up for beef since I do cook turkey at home occasionally but not beef (honestly, I am not good at cooking beef).
Our dinner in basket
Hot Jalapeno Sausage
On top of the BBQ beef, we asked for Hot Jalapeno Sausage. And we did not miss the lovely cream corn dessert. The white bread came free-of-charge. And it is self-service here so you can save on the tips.
BBQ Lean Beef
Started as a country store, in 1989 Bar-B-Q was added to Rudolph one-stop gas station, garage and grocery store. Today, there are several stores operating mainly in Texas. According to Rudy's, their meats are 100% oak smoked. With time, oak and dry spices, each platter are made perfect for the customers. Another good stuff you should not miss is Rudy's Bar-B-Q sauce. It is fabulous!
A bit of everything...
If you ask whether I would be back? Yes, why not? The place is clean, server staff is friendly, food is great, and I enjoy the casual ambiance at Rudy's.
With breads and pickles
And sauces...
By the way, do not get offended if you see something reads like below at Rudy's.
'Your mother is not here. Please clean up your own mess' Laughing
Chuckle..

Hi! I borrowed and credited a sausage image on your blog. GalloPizzeria.blogspot.com. Let me know if that's okay smilies/smiley.gif also, I'd love it if you came to visit us in San Antonio. We're an incredible, hole-in-the-wall pizza joint by OLLU in SA. We serve up your standard pepperoni, but we also offer the Diablo, which is topped with ghost pepper and habanero, and the Chanchi which is topped with bean sauce, olives, onions and avocado. Look us up on UrbanSpoon and come visit us sometime!
