A Journey of Life

The first time I met J was during a bowling outing organized by my fellow colleagues somewhere in 2003. She was
my colleague's girlfriend then. The second time, I saw her again was during our company annual dinner at E&O Hotel in Penang on the same year. That's all about her until a year later when I moved to new job, we met again and happened to work in same building!

She was re-introduced to me by my good friends JL and WC. Soon we became good friends owing to her bubbly and
cheeky personality which made me feel very comfortable to be with. Casual, simple, witty, smart, humorous, entertaining, happy-go-lucky...I guess these words do not seem sufficient to narrate her character but at least
describing close about J.

Yesterday, I was shocked to learn about her passing away. Age 32. She was battling with brain cancer. WC texted
me and I also saw the same message left on FB. Sorrow. Grief. Mourning. I miss her dearly.

Three months ago, we were chatting, giggling and sipping coffee at Starhill's Starbucks in KL before I left for Austin. We went for an early Christmas shopping at Romantika gift shop and had 'Nasi Briyani' in Ampang.

Everything was alright then. When she and her hubby dropped us (my SO & I) at hotel in KL, she reminded me that
she would be visiting me in US and jokingly said "We are going apply for washing dishes job together yeah!". And
I nodded with laughter.

About a month ago, I heard about her hand's numbness and the brain growth. She went for brain operation two
weeks ago. Her spirit was strong and everybody was looking forward to see her flying high again. I sent her a
'Speedy Recovery' card a couple weeks ago. Whether it reached her hand or otherwise, I know she would have read
the card from somewhere up there.

Her life could be short but she made a lot of difference in so many people's life. In her, I see the world is full of color, vibrant, free and happiness. She was born with the ability to lift up anybody's mood in bad time. I am so glad to have known J.

We thank God for letting us borrow J for a while. And now, she returns Home to be with Him.

She is not gone. She is always in our mind.
